New York, 27 September 2011 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Samuel Žbogar participated at the 2011 treaty Event and signed the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization.
The Nagoya Protocol was adopted at the tenth conference of the States parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity on 29 October 2010. The Protocol provides a strong basis for greater legal certainty and transparency for providers and users of genetic resources. The protocol is open for signature until 1 February 2012.
