Slovenia calls for effective early warning capabilities in situations of crimes against humanity

 

New York, 7 September 2012 – Slovenia actively participated also at this year’s General Assembly’s Interactive Debate on Responsibility to protect. Being a supporter of the concept since its inception in 2005, Slovenia called for establishment of effective early warning capabilities and stressed the role of international, regional and sub-regional organizations in this regard. Deputy Permanent Representative and Chargé d'affaires of Slovenia Ms. Simona Leskovar pointed out that indifference is not an alternative: “We have to transform often repeated words “never again” into reality and save lives of innocent people.”
