Director General Zidar addresses the UN Security Council on Women, Peace and Security

 

New York, 26 October 2010 - Dr. Andraž Zidar, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia  addressed the UN Security Council open debate on Women, Peace and Security.

Director-General Zidar emphasized that the Security Council resolution 1325 on women, peace and security acknowledged that women are not just victims of armed conflict and that their equal and full participation is of vital importance in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, conflict resolution, peace-building and post-conflict recovery.
