PR ┼átiglic addresses Security Council's Open Debate on Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict
New York, 9 November 2011 - Ambassador ┼átiglic, in her capacity as the member of the Human Security Network, addressed the Security Council's Open Debate on Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict.
Human Security Network, composed of Austria, Chile, Costa Rica, Greece, Ireland, Jordan, Mali, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Thailand, and South Africa, as an observer, sees the protection of civilians in armed conflict as a priority. In its speech the network stressed the need for respect of international humanitarian and human rights law and accountability for its violations.
